How to batch convert JPG images to WebP

Prepare several website images in one workspace, check each result and download a ZIP. Batch processing reduces repeated actions; quality still needs review for each type of image.

Follow these steps

  1. Open JPG to WebP and choose several JPG files within the combined upload limit.
  2. Choose a target width and quality appropriate for your website. Smaller dimensions usually reduce file size more than a small quality change.
  3. Check each file’s result. Download successful files individually or together as a ZIP, and retry only failed files. Compare detailed images before replacing website assets.

Example: resize JPG product photos for a listing

Open JPG to WebP and select a small set of JPG photos. Start with two or three files, up to the displayed 10-file batch limit, and keep their combined size within 4 MB. Choose images with both smooth backgrounds and detailed labels so you can compare the output.

If the destination accepts WebP and displays images at 1200 pixels wide, choose that width and a suitable quality setting. Convert the batch. Compare the original and result dimensions and file sizes; a smaller width often matters more than a small quality adjustment.

Download successful items as a ZIP. Open detailed images at the size visitors will see, checking labels and edges. Retry failed items without rebuilding the whole batch. Use JPG or PNG instead when the destination requires those formats.

Check your result

  • Every intended input has a corresponding output and failures are identified.
  • Dimensions satisfy the destination requirements and filenames remain understandable.
  • Check visual detail and transparency before replacing live assets.

Common questions

Is WebP always smaller than JPG?

No. The source, dimensions and quality settings affect size. Compare the downloaded output before using it.

Why did only part of the batch finish?

A file may be unsupported, damaged or exceed an output limit. Review its error and retry that file with supported settings.
